A trip to Walt Disney World is one of the most exciting vacations most children will remember. As a parent, you want to provide your children with this amazing magical experience. Here are some simple tips that will make your vacation affordable. As a mom of three boys, our trips to the Magic Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista would have been tragically limited without using these cost saving measures.

First off, Plan to bring lots of water, juice boxes and/or capri sun type drinks. Capri Sun drinks work well as you can freeze them and bring them in a backpack or diaper bag. Most hotels and time share resorts offer a fridge or freezer.  If you are planning on bringing a stroller or wheelchair, you can hang the backpack or baby bag on the back. If not, carry a backpack. I am not one to carry a back pack so I like to rent a locker. Locker rentals are available at the front of each park. You can go in and out of your locker the entire day. If you are doing the Disney Hopper deal, you can show your receipt from one park and get a free locker at the next park.

Once you get to the park, you will quickly see that bringing drinks could easily save a family $100 or more on a hot Florida day. It is very important that you remain hydrated, so plan on LOTS of drinks.

Another idea is to have a HUGE breakfast before getting to the park. Eating at Disney is not cheap for a family. if you have a large affordable buffet breakfast before you get to the park, you will be able to eat a smaller meal later in the day.

Lastly, Yes you really can pack sandwiches. I saw someone in the park who had filled an entire bag of bread with premade peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Not so good when the kids are older, but perfect for when they are younger.

If you plan accordingly, you can save significant money on your vacation.   Visit me at ColdPressedChocolate.com, call me at 941-216-5727 or email lynette @ liveforchocolate.com.
