I have just about finished my second day on the Healthy Chocolate Co. Diet.

I know it sounds crazy that you can actually lose weight eating chocolate but it is science based.  In fact, the specific diet plan I am on was in the Bariatric Journal, It made the cover of the Bariatrician.  I knew the shake works.  I have been eating Beyond Healthy Chocolates for over 7 years now as they have helped with my fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue symptoms.  Have you ever just decided things were going to change?  Well that is how I feel about 2017.  I don’t care if I lose a ton of weight but I do want to be healthy.  Do I care if I wear a bikini at 51, not so much but I do want to lose a serious bit of weight.

So I decided that 2017 was the year I was going to follow the Beyond cocoa diet just like the study that was done.  Tomorrow I will start day 3 and I feel like things are going quite well.  The protein shake I have in the morning was made with 1 cup ice, 1 cup Silk unsweet vanilla almond milk and 2 scoops of the Beyond Cocoa Protein Shake.  It made almost 2 full glasses which took me about 15 minutes to sip.  It was good.  I liked the flavor and for now this is my favorite recipe.  There are many recipes and my next favorite is 1/2 a frozen banana, 1/2 tsp. peanut butter, 1 cup ice, 1 cup water and 2 scoops of the Beyond Cocoa Protein Shake.  Bottom line is there are many recipes, some people love to add fresh frozen fruit, others like to have coffee and vanilla.  The choices are endless.  The great thing is that I was full for a good 4 hours after having my shake.  I even had to remind myself to have another for lunch.  Because it tastes good and I can eat a piece of Healthy Chocolate anytime I have a craving, I find that it is easier than you would think to follow.

Yesterday I ordered a rebounder as I think that will be a good exercise option for me.  In the meantime, I am dancing with my oldest son for 15-20 minutes every morning to get my lymph system going and then taking a bike ride daily.  I think I overdid the bike ride as I can’t move to well right now, but going to keep at it.  I can’t wait til my rebounder arrives as that is supposed to be exercise that is easy on the joints and helps you burn many calories.  I am also drinking lots of water.  Goal is to drink 1/2 an ounce of water for every pound you weigh daily.  Think of it as flushing the fat away.

As far as chocolates, today I have had a Xo Love Chocolate love bite, a Xobiotic and the Power Square.  It was funny, that I had a hard time reaching my 1200 calories per day!  You would think that would be next to nothing but the shake is not really that many calories.  My shake with unsweet almond milk is only 220 calories each.  That left me lots of calories to play with even after my 580 calorie dinner.  Not too bad.  I thought the 1200 calories a day for women would be restrictive but honestly that does not seem to be a problem at all.  For men, the calorie content should be 1500 per day.

All in all I really think I can do this.  I don’t feel crazy hungry and my mood is pretty good because of all the chocolate I am eating.  As far as antioxidants and flavanols, I am eating so many I can hardly keep track!

Each protein shake I had was 56,500 ORACfn in antioxidants and 1128 flavonoids.

I had 3 pieces of chocolate which is approx. 110,000 ORACfn

As best as I can tell, I ate over 113,000 ORAC fn just in the shakes alone and another 110,000 ORAC fn in the chocolates.

That is over 223,000 ORACfn which is a ton of antioxidants in my book.  So hopefully I will feel better and lose weight.  We will see.

If you are thinking about losing some weight as well, I would seriously consider this diet as it is easy to follow, easy to make  and tastes great.

“On June 21, 2010, I weighed 249 pounds. After 12 weeks of adding Xoçaí Healthy Chocolate to my weight loss plan, I weighed 201 pounds. I’ve tried many other products and programs but nothing has ever given me these kinds of results. I have increased energy and absolutely no cravings.”
